Memorial Day: 10mi and Relaxation

For our memorial day three day weekend, Caleb and I stayed home. For me, this was my first memorial day not at the cabin since I think I was one year old. It is different now that grandpa won't be there. To be honest, I went the last few years so that I could be with him. Sometimes family dynamics can get a little rough, no?

Caleb had been training for his 10 mile run for like 8 weeks and it finally got here. He ran just fine and LOVED finishing on the 50 yard line of Solider Field here in Chicago. I have to be honest though, I did not see him running from the start line nor finishing the race at the field. I was there both of the times but I was blinded to him. Shucks. There are some great pics of him crossing the finish line though. Please look below.

We also just relaxed while we were home, it felt great. We walked to the Lake and just walked and walked. We had a hot dog cookout at a park and even went to Nate and Kelly's for a bonfire/grill out too. Something about having nothing to do is the best thing to do every so often.

Here are our photos of the weekend.

Anna Graudates and MN Friend Time

The middle of May, Caleb and I ventured to MN by car to see baby sister graduate from college. It was a blast to back at the alma mater of both of us and to see peeps I wouldn't have seen again probably. The same graduating class as Anna also included bestie Lee and Sar Bear's siblings. So, therefore, I was able to see my friends there too! We had a fantastic picnic at Lake Johanna that Momma Klinge put on as well as a fun afternoon with the Klingons.

Caleb and I split ways for the night as he say the boys and I saw some girls. It was fun for both of us to be filled up with friend time once again. I forget how good we had it in MN for friendships. I hope that didn't sound rude. :S

Here the weekend in photos...

My fave professor, Dick Middleton.

My next MN trip will be to this lil squirt. Lee is SO
beautiful being pregnant.

This kid loves to crank his neck sideways
and just stare. What a goof!

Baby Shower in MN!

So... I hosted a baby shower. I flew to my homeland of MN and treated Miss Heidi Lee to a morning of food, fellowship, and gifts all for the celebration and anticipation of Baby A to be here. Lee is having a baby boy so obvi she needs things to spoil the kid. We did that children's book style... all things children's book was represented. Please enjoy the photos from the day.

Off I go with just a backpack.
Thanks Spirit Airlines!

Affirmation Stations are a must for a party entailing Lee.

Here fave movie is "Baby Mama", hence
the name of her chair.

Just SO beautiful. Someday I will want a baby and
someday I hope I can be this cute, this prego.

Obvi, I had to visit my buckeroo, Josiah, while I was home amongst 11 other people. I filled my days with people, something I have not done much of since being in IL. Welp, thanks friends... for such a great time with each of you.

Misc. April Happenings to be Mentioned

Even though I did not post in April... I still think there were things to post about. Here is a photo montage of what we did spur of the moment in the month of April.

First 80* day for a Klinge means DQ for all.

I will partake in this tradition, yes'm.

It may have taken me 6 weeks but
I finished a puzzle!

So nice out, why not take a bike ride!

Caleb and I on our bike ride.

Grad student friends came over to hang
out, so fun!

Miles is in Soccer Season. We love to
cheer him on!

Batting cages to humor the man-child.

Grandma's Bday Bash - 80 years old

So my grandma is officially 80 years old! It seems like she is younger than that but alas, she is 80. For her birthday party, we had a grill out here in the Chicagoland area at my Uncle and Aunt's home. All the grandchildren and great grandchildren were there except for four which is a great turn out. It has been a long time since all the family has been in one room and that was surely a blessing for my grandma to see. Not only did we celebrate Grandma but we also went to a middle school play to watch my second cousin have a solo in the play "Annie Jr." which is Annie but with all middle school kids in the cast. It was certainly a middle school play but Anna, my cousin, did an outstanding job.

We took a lot of photos and are so happy to be apart of my Grandma's big bash.

We got grandma a record player for all
her old records. She loved it.

Easter in Iowa

For easter this year, we went to Caleb's house. It was a blast as usual seeing that all were there (except Nate, Kelly, and Miles). We went on a long walk down "the path", chillaxed to the max, went to Grandpa Briden's for lunch, went to the new church in Waverly, and played endless things with the kiddos. It is totally great to be apart of this family and to savor all that I thought I would miss out on being an only child. There is a lot to live after you grow up, I am just doing the sibling/aunt thing a lil upside down. Please enjoy the photos of the weekend. Kids are just so cute.
