Inspiration: Centerpieces

Well folks, this was a long awaited decision and I feel like I have made the call. I could not really find a centerpiece idea that was unique but still cost effective.

I initially wanted to have antiques as centerpieces but then I was reminded by a fellow bride that some things may be "borrowed" forever by people at those tables. This may sound as if I do not trust my own flesh and blood but there will be PLENTY of outside people walking through the clubhouse wanting to put there sticky fingers all over unique finds from my mom and I.

SO..... I went with these:
They will really pull in the dresses and suits, no?
I really like the BLUE hue that will be in the room along with the solid wood tables, the burlap runners, and the mustard napkins. Don't you think? I am excited to have ALL different kinds of navy blue flowers at each table. Just no roses, please.

Have I ever told you'll about my dislike of roses? Not to offend you who love them, I just think they are cliche and ordinary. I am not that kind of girl, wild child is more me. Even though, when Caleb gets me roses, I seem to think the gesture overpowers the flower. I then love THOSE roses. Does that make sense?

Key to my heart.... and your seats

Mom and I have decided and scrounged up some 150 skeleton keys to be used for..... table assignments.

This is just so fun for us to decide on because we just think skeleton keys are the best thing ever made to man. They have so much detail and character to share. I ALWAYS think about the stories and lives the items in antique stores have and what they would be able to share if they could talk (beauty and the beast anyone?)

You guys, I am getting so excited about my wedding. I went to a wedding on the 9th of June and I just got SO excited for my turn. My bestie, Sarah Beth, has her wedding this weekend and I am just stoked to celebrate hers and all the weddings this summer. I feel like I will be spoiled with ideas and ambiance as the days get closer for October. BAH, I just can wait but sometimes I cannot.

Exciting Updates : Personal AND Wedding

  • Personal
    • I GOT A JOB! - I work at Ameriprise Financial in Inver Grove Heights, MN. It is a temp-to-(POTENTIAL)hire position so don't get too excited for me. I have been there a week now (6.4.12 was my start date) and I am thinking it is pretty great. The firm consists of 6 people (including me) who deal directly with financial planning. I am one of the assistants and also working as a "catch-all" if things come up. It feels a little like an internship but I am happy there and that totally counts.
    • Caleb and I have come to the conclusion that we will be living in downtown St. Paul regardless once Sept. 1 rolls around. His lease is up then and I will be moving in after honeymoon.
    • No news on the location of the honeymoon but once I know you will know on a Tuesday, promise.
    • I will be moving in with the bestie, Heidi Lee, as of July 1-October(ish). We have always wanted to live together and now I get to spend my last single girl time moments with that beaut of a baby girl.

  • Wedding
    • We have this written on paper (and dates) but also confident about (not final):
      • ceremony flow
      • wedding weekend schedule
      • bachelorette party
      • personal shower
      • wedding shower in WI
      • Save the Dates printed
      • final guest list agreed upon
      • photo list
Mom and I are proud of our accomplishments and Caleb is being such a good sport. Boys are just precious aren't they?

Altar Decor -- This is my mom's finding and my loving

First of all, I failed you as I have not written last week and hardly made it this week on Tuesdays but I will choose not to do it again. I promise? We will go week by week on that promise.

ANYWAYS.......
We, my mom and I, were having a hard time figuring out what to do with the front of the church to make it feel smaller. As you may have seen in a previous post ("wedding ceremony"), there is a larger "stage" area in my home church. My mom found this great image in Bridal Guide:

Beautiful, no?

Well, now picture lace and organza intertwined on the ceiling above the front of the stage and that glassish garland drapping down enough so that it is visible but not enough to get in the way. Can you picture it?

Well if you can't... my wedding is 147 days away. EEK! Come see it for yourself.

As for the stage... mom and I are thinking to LOAD it with vintage trinkets and things to make it feel homey but still go with the theme of the wedding. We will be adding flowers to one of the aisles and then the opposite aisle will be decorated TBD. I love the fabric drape idea from row to row but we shall see.

That is all I know for decor thus far. Please stayed tuned as I feel like I will have more up my sleeve so soon.
