Week 44: My Birthday, Obvi.

Well, folks. My birthday has come and gone. Caleb can take another siesta from entertaining me completely for a span of a week.

I. Had. A. Blast.

The week was nice as we opened presents throughout and enjoyed the last days of age 27.

My actual birthday, my mom took off work and my grandma came over to the Dells for a nice ladies day. My grandma was so kind to take care of Rollie as my mom and I went to the spa. Yes, please! My mom and I really got to take a few hours to relax together and spend some one-one time. She is bomb and I secretly savor anytime I can get with her as it seems to be getting less and less throughout the years. Family is a big deal, peeps.

After we got back from the spa, we four went to the best place to eat in WD, High Rock. I will never get enough of that place, i don't think.

When I got back into town, Wausau, Caleb and I dropped Rollie off at a friend's house we went to a fancy restaurant all dressed up. It was delish.

After, we came home (without Rollie) and enjoyed Caleb-made macaroons. It never ceases to amaze me as this was a total joke I told him I wanted but he went above his knowledge and forged some delish dessert.

The following day, we went to the apple orchard and on a brewery tour. It was a joy to have Rollie along for the celebration and to see the joy he brings to us both.

These two bad apples have my heart. :)

Rollie even debuted his daddy's shoes that Caleb wore when he was a baby. One: I love that Kathy kept these for us Two: They are so cute, everyone comments on them.

Caleb's baby shoes

All the festivities tuckered us all out but mostly Rollie and that was fine with us. A good baby he is, peeps.

Week 43: Weekend of Calm, Nothing-to-do Bliss

Last weekend we had a weekend where we actually didn't have anything to do, other than two HUGE rummage sales and a failed attempt at ribs.

We started off the weekend by heading to a kid's consignment blow-out where most items were half off and it filled half of an expo center. It was so fun to look through. Mind you we only bought a teething ring, a ball-popper pusher, and a sesame street talking ball BUT it was loads-o-fun.

After which, we headed over to Olive Garden for Soup, Salad, & Breadsticks galore and Rollie loved the breadsticks and salad veggies. Please see below for a find that Caleb encountered:
Do you see it, instead of "Ollie" Caleb
wrote an "R" to make "Rollie"!
We then hopped in the car to head 30 min north to a Rib Fest that was going on only to find out that the Chamber had the times wrong and it was well over by the time we arrived. BUMMER!

Other than that? Well, it was football on Sunday. What else would we do with a perfectly good day than to sit indoors and watch the "same thing" for 9 hours straight. :) Love you, Caleb.

Before I leave you, here is the new bonding experience Caleb has created for each day after work. Yup, a whip bliss for the boys.

Week 42: Wausau Weekend Fun

We were not up to much this past weekend as there was an art fair downtown that we meandered around and purchased Birthday presents for Rollie.

It was also OPENING WEEKEND of football so we did that the entire Sunday and all parties loved it.
Before I leave this incredibly short post, here is my son at his finest. I LOVE HIM JUST SO MUCH!

Week 41: Dells & Teething

Well, teething is pretty miserable for a baby. That is a FACT. I felt so bad for my lil guy. Luckily he know has 4 teeth. He is on the "two-at-a-time" track for getting teeth. I am totally fine with that. Double time.

Rollie in the midst of teething.
Poor guy.
This past weekend, we managed to make it down to the Dells for another time. It is just so peaceful being down there and taking in the views of the condo. The reason was a family reunion on Sunday but we made a mini weekend of it leaving on Saturday afternoon. On Sunday morning, we headed to Thunder Valley breakfast for the very last time. They are closing their doors after so many years and I am a lil sad. They are mainly a bed and breakfast BUT have a locally-known breakfast buffet that is just delish. It was my first job as a busser and grounds cleaner. I learn GREAT life lessons while working under an old dairy farmer's wife. She was tough but oh so good of a teacher.

The reunion was nice but unfortunately, I took no photos. Just imagine 50 people who seldom get together, eating Culver's custard, sharing of the old and new lives we have, and a view of a slough and kids laughter in the background.

When we got home on Sunday, we had the NFL draft that next day. The Klinge league is still going strong and the trophy IS leaving Chicago this year. Ahmm....Kelly, Nathan, & Miles.

Rollie was only in on the pre-draft strategizing before he took to the bed for the night.

Week 40: 9 Months Old! What a trip.

So he has been out as long as he was in, huh? That's awesome!

What has he been up to this month? He eats by himself (when he feels like it), he wakes with his walker (when he feels like it), he dances by shoulder shrugs and knee bounces (when he feels like it), he screamed constantly this month (he is almost done now!), and he scales the furniture (always). He has attached to a daily routine that really works for him and this momma feels great about it! His naps are consistently 1 hour - 1.5 hours and he eats anything we give to him (minus like 3 things). He is teething at the moment and has been his worst bout of it. Still not comparable to the majority of the stories I read and hear from other moms BUT he has goobers and congestion which hasn't changed his cheerful demeanor at all.
Lovin' bath time, finally!

Nightly, storytime via record player.

Starting to love this thing.

This teething really knocks him out when he sleeps.

People, like most other moms, I love my kid so much. He is just the best.

Last weekend, we traveled down to St. Louis for another baseball game. Rollie went to chillax at the Klinge grandparent's home. He loved his time there and really came back rejuvenated, just like mom and dad. It has been a GREAT week back after vacation.

While in St. Louis, we traveled to the Arch, the stadium, great bfast, good bbq, Anheuser-Busch brewery tour, and a fun stroll down Blueberry Hill. We even savored some delicious rootbeer (Fitz's) from their brewery. We even went to Eureka, MO to go to Six Flags. Man, did I feel old. I got a killer head ache and my skeletal was just a mess that night. So fun, just so fun.

This elevator car was so fun for me.

View from the top.

This is Stephen Voght. He is the catcher
for Oakland. he LITERALLY held a 1 min
convo with me. I was super pumped about it.

This place has bomb blueberry donuts.
And cinnamon fritters for that matter.

A GREAT wine bar in Eureka. We had beer, ha!

We were ALL tired by the end of the
weekend. HA!
