Week 31: Happy 7 months, my love!

We have been having loads of fun over here. This week, we started swimming lessons and Rollie loves it. He is just a lil fishy in that pool. We are doing the lessons with my Wausau confidant, Liz.

SIDE STORY: Liz and I lived in the same hall in college for the first two years. We definitely knew of each other but did not hang out until we moved to the same town, Wausau. She is my person here. Her daughter is 5 days younger than Rollie so we talked pregnancy at the same time and are, really, doing parenting at the exact same time. She even goes to the same church as us so we go to Mom's Group together as well. :) It is beyond awesome to have her here.

My fishy boy
Happy 7 months old, little one. Rollie is all about mom and dad being close as he does his independence thing. He loves to do happy screams and babbling. He sits and rolls consistently but cannot transition by himself. Just a genuinely happy baby who loves to laugh and smile.

Week 30: Happy Dad's Day, Caleb!

This past weekend was all about dad. We loved it over here.

It started out with A's being the free game of the day so we spent some quality time in front of the TV cheering for the "home" team.

Later on we chilled around the house in many locations. Rollie's crib was a favored spot for dad as was the sofa during feeding time. What a goof, daddio!

Isn't this just the sweetest shot?!? I absolutely love it.

The night was concluded with a round (or two) of disc golf at our new fave spot in Weston. We lost Ms. Blue (Rollie's fave toy) during the first round but alas it was with a couple behind us. HOORAY!

Sunday started off with presents. Caleb received Monk-made hot sauce from Alabama from Rollie and a new Columbia coat for lighter weather from mom. He was quite pleased with his gifts.

Photos not taken were a trip to Red Eye for some delicious food, Milwaukee Burger Co for a free hamburger for dads, and church obvi.

To conclude, Rollie was such a good boy the whole weekend and we snapped these presh shots throughout. Please enjoy :)

Unfortunately, Rollie had too much fun this past weekend and now is concurring a mean cold. Snot and coughs to share for anyone interested. Any takers? No? Okay, whatevs.

Week 29: Weekend Getaway SIN Rawl-Dawg

These parentals have not been away from Rollie together since he was born. My longest time before this past weekend was 36 hours and Caleb's was 60 hours. This weekend we left Rollie with Grandma for three nights and three days. It was wonderful, people. We are pretty decent parents (in our opinion) but being away was wonderful. Caleb's dream is to visit all MLB baseball fields so off we go to Cincinnati, OH to see Oakland play the Red's.

Our first stop after dropping him off was Nathan and Kelly's for chat time and Miles hang out. It was a quick visit but waking up in Chicago brought nostalgia back in full force. We loved the traffic getting downtown, walking our neighborhood, and just being present in Chicago again. Peeps, we miss it so much. Rollie would love it there, we just know it.

Mandatory stop: Baker & Nosh for Treccia.

Wrigleyville!

The Red Line. A must.

Caleb's old home base: Northwestern O&P

Cantina 1910. Wow, this place was so yummy and fresh.

My Andersonville babe.
Off to Cincinnati we went. The drive was boring but the end of the night made up for all the negativity. We checked into our bed & breakfast and left immediately to take in the nightlife of Cincinnati. People, Cincinnati is a dirty place but the night life is so fun!
We found a rooftop bar to eat dinner...
at 10:30p. Ha.

Off to Blind Lemon for a garden view, acoustic
night. What a beautiful time.

The lovebirds, loving life.
The next morning we headed out after a home-cooked meal at the B&B to Findlay Market to check out the open air market that was crowded with locals, drank some cold brew at a local spot, shopped a lil bit, watched fresh donuts being made, and then headed towards the game.

It was game time and oh, so, hot. 95 degrees in the full sun gets very warm. We had a blast seeing some friends from NU time in Chicago who are doing a residency in Louisville, KY. They came over the border and watched Oakland (lose) for the the afternoon. Another stadium down, a couple handfuls to go.

To end our time in the south(ish), we ate ribs until we almost burst at Eli's. We HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone going to Cincinnati. Oh, so, good.

Week 28: Weekend with Grandma & 6 Month Shots

Hello. It's one of those weeks where we were busy but there isn't much to write about. My cousin, Ezra, had his graduation party so Rollie and I left early for the weekend. First stop, my mom's to help with a garage sale she was hosting. Ley me tell you what... there was little to no traffic the day I was there so Rollie and I had a splendid time rolling in the yard and chatting with grandma. Second stop, the grad party. We had it at a park and I was able to see some family I seldom see and introduce them to Rollie. All in all, a very successful weekend of people time.

Other than that, we just hung around the house and Rollie entertained us.
Bull-fightin' Rollie

He loves to sit on the counter and watch dad cook.

All Klinge kids need to have this
bonnet on in their life.
This was Rollie's moment. HA!

Week 27: Memorial Day Festivites

Happy Memorial Day to those that have served and to those that are currently serving.

We celebrated this holiday by going to a parade and taking a day trip to Minocqua, WI.

I went down to Pardeeville, WI to watch my baby nephew, Ezra, graduate from high school. It was so fun to go to but, oh golly, so hot. I swear that gym does not have A/C. While I was gone, Rollie and Daddio stayed home to have a "Boy's Day". They started the day by going to the Farmer's Market and midday, took part in the parade just outside our window.

My mom and Ezra Lee

Parade Watchers.

Candy Snatcher. Obvi, loves it.

On Sunday, we did a whole lot of nothing and on Monday, we packed up the fam and visited the northern part of WI. Minocqua is a lot like Princeton, WI and Stillwater, MN. It was nice to just walk around and be in the sun. Rollie did great and we had a great time.

Mom and her baby.

In other news, Big Boy Rollie is now champing the bottle by holding it himself. Good work, Love, you are getting to be so big. Momma loves you so!
