Corning Weekend

My mom has created a tradition starting this year of having a weekend getaway. She is really good at snatching fun ideas and inviting those to do vacations with her. Well this year we went all out, WI style. We went to the Packer/Seahawks game and also to Sheboygan, WI to the Blue Harbor Resort. If any of you have been to either of these places you know what this post is going to be about...FUN, FUN, FUN!

We met my mom in Wis Dells on Friday morning to do the drive with the family (My mom, grandma, bro/cousin Ezra, Caleb and me). We took the route that mom and I are obesessed with. It is a drive through where my mom grew up, where my grandma has lived for many seasons of her life, and through cutsie towns that have cutsie shops. If any of you get the chance to go through Briggsville or Princeton, WI... let me know. I will go with you, ha! Needless to say, we all got something at some point of this trip. Hardship USA was when I elected Caleb to drive and we ran into 2 hours worth of standstill traffic. We were pumped to eat at the stadium (in their restaurant) but did not have enough time. We were pumped to park far away so that we didnt have to drop a load of cash for parking but we did not have enough time. We did however see kick off and we did however have photos to share regarding this fun event we had at Lambeau Field. Please enjoy....

74,000 people in attendance.

My precious grandma in the stands...

Ezra just hating his time in a sport's arena.

Don't worry, Caleb was paying attention to the Bears too.

After the game we had the 2 hour car ride to a different city on the water, Sheboygan. We got to the resort, marveled at its massiveness and then went to bed ASAP. When we awoke, my mom and I were the first ones up. We went to the balcony and this is what we say....

We were so content with this scene that we stayed out there for hours just chatting and enjoying Jesus beauty. The resort has great little shops nearby and also walking on the beach... we participated in both. Ha.

My time with my family was great and I enjoyed every part of it. Learning from generations above (and below) me is fantastic but being able to make memories with them is something that is a constant blessing.

Wedding, Family, Milestone, Baby... In That Order

Hello folks, I think I just had the best couple of days. Over the weekend Caleb and I went to the cornstalks (Iowa) and spent some time with his friends and family. It was an honest blast and a half. Please enjoy the captions to photos, the style of a blog I most enjoy. K, byes.

On our way to the wedding, Caleb picked out my dress.

These are the original five homeschool basketball stars.

Kendy chilled in her undies all weekend.

She is reading a story to us like a teacher.

Pais lookin presh...adorbs.

Selfie (kinda) of my girl, Della and her beaut mom.

SIDE NOTE: car hit a milestone... it matters.
Also, this weekend, my friend Kirstie had her baby. Long story behind the arrival of this bundle that is not mine to share. Needless to say, Tessa Renee Barlow was born on Saturday and I love holding her... a lot. "She is so lil."
This girl holds her nook like a champ.
Until next time... farewell.

Lee's Shower Time

This past weekend I was able to visit with Lee and the rest of her friends at her parent's residence. For those that do no know her from just her name, she was the bridesmaid with red/blonde hair. She is getting married in like 4.5 weeks and wanted gifts so we gave them to her. Her sister, Krista, put on the shower and did a VERY good job. Here is the yummy bfast food we had including homemade scones, french toast, parfaits, donuts, egg bake, and coffee galore:

She also had this at the table for when people walked in. I thought both boards were simply precious. Peeps, these people are like obsessed with each other. It is a serious match.

Here is the ALMOST Mrs. Anderson.... she is simply gorgeous, am I wrong? Ok, sorry. She is pretty though, I cannot help but observe that.

9.15.13... soon enough to just be here already. So fun to hang out with girls like I did this past weekend.

Pizza on the Farm

So there is this place in WI, in the middle of nowhere, that makes pizza every Tuesday night from Spring to Fall. It is packed at all times of the open hours (4:30-8) and you have to bring everything. Everything you ask? Yes, they DO provide the pizza and beer but they do not provide anything else. We brought plates, forks, cups, water, wine, cheese, crackers, a blanket to sit on (there are no tables and chairs, just the great outdoors), and even cash (1. we never have 2. they don't accept anything else).

EVERYTHING is made on the farm where you visit. All things meaning the sausage (and the pig), the herbs, the crust, and all the veggie fixings. It is SO yummy seeing that it is a wood-fire oven they make it in. The atmosphere is fresh and reminds me of a day at the winery where people can wander to see all the ingredients cooking/roaming and you may fix yourself wherever you please.

We went with our friends Zak and Lauren Stelter who introduced us to the idea and were able to take their AWESOME convertible through for a 45 minute ride in the countryside. Us city folks salivate on these types of adventures, at least Caleb and I do. We also got caught in a rain storm while the top was down and were almost buried in hay bails from a semi... stories that are probably only funny for those present, oh well.

Here are some photos to let you in on the adventure we had:
On our way!
