Momma's Birthday Weekend in Chicago

For momma's birthday, she came down to chi-town to celebrate. We did really enjoy ourselves and were able to do things we have done before and had yet to discover.

For Friday Night Fish Fry, we were put at a small table
with huge menus. It was cramped.

When we got home, we played video games with Ezra.

Check out my mom's mad skills at Dance, Dance. She is awesome, no?

Here actual birthday was Sunday so we went out to eat and enjoyed time together. She is just the best of moms out there. I tell you what.

Thanks for visiting, family. I love you so!

Back home to Wis Dells

The last weekend in March, Caleb and I went home for family affairs on my dad's side and decided to make the best of the weekend. We spent some quality time with some quality people.

High Rock Visit ... obvi.
We went on a hike to rock formation "High Rock" which is right in my mom's backyard. She is very lucky to have the Wis River beauty that she does. The walk was certainly an adventure but the view was out of this world. Nature is such a treasure to enjoy.

She is so cute! This is my momma.

The view from the top.

The walk back home.
On Sunday, we went to Pardeeville to visit the family over there and brought this gem home with us. My cousin, Ezra, is like the best and always brings a smile to Caleb or I's face.

My mom making fun of how he stands
for photos.

Mom's kind of photo. I just happened to
photobomb it.
We did some putt-putt on Sunday afternoon which was very fun and enjoyable. Mom is a stellar putt-putt girl.

I love to golf. For real. I love it.

All in all it was a stellar weekend. Being home is something I will never grow out of.

Impromptu Waverly Excursion

On a Monday night, the Klinge family received a mass email from Momma Klinge introducing an idea. The idea you ask? How about coming home in 6 days from the date of the email... SURE! Why not? The thing about being a Klinge means sometimes dropping personal life and picking up family life. I cannot tell you how much joy it brings me for a family to drop everything to come and be together. Being together means the world to each of them and they are happy to find excuses to do it. This excuse? Well Anna and Josh were both on Spring Break and one-by-one each family sector, by proximity, made the commitment to come. By the time we got the call, we were all in. Unfortunate to all the family, my counterpart had six tests in five days. It was not the same without him but I think I represented the family (us 2) well. Please enjoy the incredible, adorable, presh kiddos I call my nieces and nephews. AWWWW!

This is one of the cutest pics I could
have ever gotten.

He NEVER stops moving and being a boy.

Just cute. Just plain ol' cuteness.

O-dawg. Oren Baby.

Caleb was able to partake every so often with the family.
Wow, baby. Della has a mullet. Can't help
a girl for having cra-cra hair.

CUTE! Kendall rinsing dishes with her new, pink dolphin
squirt gun. Tedious process but Anna was patient.

He is such a baby. Literally.

Miles watching "Frozen" with grandpa's
volume enhancing headphones.
Happy Spring, folks. Love, Della

Check out Della's smile. How can you not giggle...
Pais was not feeling as giddy as Della, nor was I.

Wing Man, Miles. He was in heaven,
Sports Haven... AKA Buffalo Wild Wings.

Luck O' the CHIrish

Well, folks. St. Pat's Memorial Weekend has come and gone. Chicago Klinges had a great time celebrating. We saw the green river, we experienced public drunkenness, and saw a parade. The river is pretty green but it lacks the hype that I was expecting. Oh well. The time with Miles has been awesome though... he had his last basketball game that day and then made fun of drunk people with his very civilized and respectful (NOT) uncle and aunt. The parade was the next day and was less enjoyable. It was 19 degrees in the sun and was 30 minutes away from our house. Remind me why I thought it was a good idea to go to a neighborhood parade 30 minutes drive from our house and think it was going to be the best idea ever. I was a wife in trouble that day. On the way home, to make matters worse, we got caught in traffic on Lake Shore Drive from a killer on a police chase. It took 2 hours to get home, hubs was not pumped about life. Life and times of Caleb and Laura are not always so fun.

Best of Friends.

Cute lil friendship we have going on.

Trying to make the best of it.

60 year old baton twirler... he was
ALMOST legit.

Irish Drum Core... they were festive.

Hubs tolerates me but not the cold.

Sar Bear Comes to the Windy City

Not long after mom left, the bestie came flying in from the colder weather. Sar Bear came for a day of her Spring Break being that she is a teacher. I appreciated all she brings with her such as: love, commitment, laughter, and girl time. Am I home sick for my rock solid community in MN? You gotta believe it. I am being timid here in Chicago with finding friends. I keep telling myself that it is because I have friends, why would I want any more? I truth behind my shell is that I am nervous to start anything knowing that I am probably not going to stay long. Caleb getting into a residency in Chicago, or MN for that matter, is not a guarantee. This thought makes me think I am not planting anything anywhere until I know what the future has in store. Because I have this mentality, I may be losing out on some great people. Hmm, there's a thought...

Maybe you could pray for some direction? Thanks. A girl needs a community whether it be a forever or a year-long community. I can be brave. I am brave.

BACK TO SARAH BEING HERE... sorry about that. Sar Bear came for a whopping 36 hours. (She is a tease). Due to the speedy visit we did as much as we possibly could. We grabbed Deep Dish Pizza for lunch, Chicago Dogs for Dinner, Millenium Park, John Hancock Bulding, and a piano bar. She knows me well and is apart of the handful of friends I have that appreciates piano bars enough to humor my obsession. Thanks, chica! She came by plane but experienced the CTA system a whole lot. I think she really enjoyed herself. I know I loved it so much. Enjoy the photo montage we were able to do...

Love you, baby girl. Thanks for the memories.

Mom Visits Chicago

Last weekend, my mom and gma came to visit. It was great news for me seeing that I love them to pieces. We had such a great weekend filled with plenty of meals and even a trip to the theater. Check out our time at the Cadillac Theater seeing Phantom of the Opera.
Aren't we just the cutest three generation trio?

It is so beautiful inside the theater.

Nose-bleed seats but we knew what was going on.

And then there is us. Just us being crazy kids.

You may be wondering how we liked it... mom and gma had seen it before and those this rendition was  not their favorite but it was enjoyable. I really enjoyed it, seeing that I was able to see a play and that I am completely obsessed with live entertainment of many forms. Phantom is a very cool story but I certainly appreciated the wikipedia plot I read during the intermission. I had no idea what was happening in the first act but act 2... FANTASTIC! Oh how did Caleb like it? Well seeing that when people sing a story to him and lack the audible conversations, one may say that he didn't like it as much as me. He is a trooper though!

After the phantom we shopped at quaint stores around the skirt of downtown Chicago and walked to dinner. We went to "Ana Maria Pasteria" one block from our house. It was snowing and it was so much fun. Enjoy the photos...

We ended up watching "Captain Phillips" with Tom Hanks. It was like "Castaway" except more captive-abductor. I liked it but it was far too long for its own good. On Sunday, we and mom went to church and had AWESOME worship. I really liked bringing my mom to our new church, New Life Community Church - Lakeview. After they left to go home, we took Miles in for the afternoon while Nate and Kelly went out to do errands. We have done this once prior and just cannot get enough of him. He literally makes us so happy to be in the same city as he is. He is so awesome. Check out the game he learned to play... JENGA.
